Big Brothers Big Sisters exists to help children succeed in life and achieve their full potential. We do this by creating caring one-to-one relationships between children (Littles) and adult volunteers (Bigs) who serve as mentors, role models and guides for children facing adversity. In any given year, we serve approximately 1,000 children in the Central Texas area, many of whom live at or below the poverty level, and/or come from single-parent families.
When a Little is paired with a Big, great things happen. Last year:
97% maintained or improved their grades
93% planned to finish high school
99% avoided early parenting
Many of the children we serve have the odds stacked against them, but with the help of their mentor, they are taking steps to a brighter future. Your support can help them do just that.
